OUR STORY

At Poquitos, we’re proud to serve vibrant Mexican cuisine that blends traditional flavors with locally sourced ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. Our menu reflects the diverse culinary landscape of Mexico—drawing inspiration from street food stalls, family kitchens, and neighborhood restaurants across the country. Rather than focusing on one region, we celebrate the wide range of influences that shape Mexican cooking.

Since opening our doors in 2011, Poquitos has become a place for connection—where guests can gather over tacos and margaritas, share stories, and feel at home. From our cozy booths to our lively bar, we strive to create a welcoming space rooted in community.

We're thrilled to welcome Chef Rudy Riverón, who brings fresh energy and a deep cultural connection to our kitchen. Originally from Mexico, Chef Rudy is passionate about honoring traditional recipes while exploring new interpretations that reflect his journey from the music scene to the culinary world. His approach blends bold flavors, thoughtful technique, and a commitment to hospitality that continues the Poquitos legacy while looking ahead to the future.

And our name? It comes from the neon sign that still shines outside our Capitol Hill location—a salvaged piece of Seattle history that once hung outside a beloved Mexican restaurant in the '80s. It reminds us daily why we do what we do: to share good food, good service, and good times.
